Quartester

2009
Country:
Finland

At a time when groups seldom have (or use) the chance to develop as a unit, Quartester stands out as an exception. These four young musicians haven't been too hasty in rushing onto the scene, but have allowed themselves time for musical development and refinement, having been at it together since 2004. Let's just say the result can be heard. The band started out using a workshop format of a sort, rehearsing a large repertoire of music. This provided an ideal approach for experimenting; new ideas were tried and tested.

The Ingimar Andersen Quartet

Their debut album will be released in March.

Surf in Stereo

2009
Country:
Denmark

Come and dance to indie-surf played by hansom guys, sit down and listen to beautiful ballads. The whole spectrum is used when Surf In Stereo walks on stage and surfs everybody out on a music adventure, where everything is possible and nothing is to dangerous.

Surf in Stereo is a new surf-jazz project. It will become a sensation on the Danish jazz stage. In 2009 Surf in Stereo won the competition "Young Jazz". Despite the low average age, Surf In Stereo has a high standard in both technical and compositional abilities. The setup is traditional, but the music is far from the old rusty jazz sound. Surf in Stereo uses parts from filthy surf, indie-rock with power, sweet pop music and latin.
